Coste Petrai is a newly developed company focused on the search for the perfect balance between the firm principles of wine-making tradition and the constant attention to technological innovation, image management, product identity and consumer needs.
Respect for the land and love for viticulture are combined with cutting-edge production technologies, capable of guaranteeing a high level of quality in every bottle.
Located in Arcade, in the heart of the Prosecco DOC Treviso production area, the company cultivates its vineyards in some of the most important areas of the Conegliano and Valdobbiadene hills where the homonymous wine Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG is produced, as well as in the Prosecco DOC area.
Great attention is dedicated to constantly reducing the environmental impact while always working with respect for the land, because this is the foundation of the quality of all Coste Petrai wines.
From VineTo Bottle
Once they arrive in the winery, the precious grapes undergo a transformation process under the watchful eye of our oenologists who thanks to their years of experience can make the best of the diverse terroirs, giving rise to wines of great personality crafted by Coste Petrai.
The must (grape juice) obtained from the soft pressing of grapes undergoes the first fermentation (alcoholic fermentation) in large stainless steel tanks. During this process the sugars are transformed into alcohol by the wine yeasts. The base wines obtained in this way are properly blended and then undergo secondary fermentation in autoclaves (large pressurised and temperature-controlled tanks) thanks to the addition of selected yeasts. Once this so-called “refermentation” phase is completed in accordance with the statutory period, the sparkling wine is separated from the yeasts, stabilised, filtered and, finally, sent to the bottling department.
