Project Description

Freshness, lightness, floral and fruity bouquet: the profile of Prosecco DOC Sparkling Wine unites the production of two entire regions of our country, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, a total of 20,000 hectares of vineyards which shape as a whole the Controlled Origin Denomination, officially created in 2009, together with the Controlled and Guaranteed Origin Denomination. The Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Sparkling Wine is Coste Petrai main product and it evokes the suggestions of a very intimate territory of just 7,000 hectares of vineyards, extending across 15 communities   between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, in the Treviso Province.

In the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG area there is a small, but very important zone of just 106 hectares of vineyards, where the famous Cartizze Prosecco Superiore is produced. This is a niche of  manufacturing excellence, surrounded by a frame of equal value, made of vineyards placed on the top of soft hills. The varied shape of the hilly ground is well expressed in the organoleptic characteristics of the final product and the suggestions of places leave their traces in the names of wines, like the Col Maor Coste Petrai, which is a cuvée obtained by selecting the best grapes of specific hills.

Clayey, sandy, stony, rich in sandstone and marl soils, the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene terroir has a wonderful array of soils, whose properties emerge in wines which are obtained from different vineyards located along the hillside of the DOCG area. Floral and fruity notes sealed by well balanced acidity and strong minerality: Prosecco Sparkling Wines embody the deepest identity of lands for centuries intertwined to viticulture.
